Link to the Sentinel Online Newspaper "Women fighting for Herceptin" would like to take this opportunity to  thank the Sentinel Newspaper for their support in our campaign.  We recommend you search the paper's website yourself using the term Herceptin or Dot Griffiths to find even more stories.

08.12.06 Although Dot and the ladies continue to support the use of Herceptin, and still follow how it's prescribed in the NHS, they have now decided to concentrate their energies on the Dorothy Griffiths Breast Cancer Appeal Fund. This is a registered cancer charity, that raises funds for the treatment and support of cancer sufferers, in the North Staffordshire area of the UK.

However Dot and the ladies will still answer your questions or concerns, around the treatment of cancer and the prescription of Herceptin. You can reach them at info@dorothygriffiths-bcaf.org.uk.

When someone tries to visit www.fightingforherceptin.org.uk they will now be re-directed to the breast cancer appeal fund web site. The herceptin site is still viewable here at http://www.herceptin.dorothygriffiths-bcaf.org.uk/.

Any questions around this can be sent to ian.robinson@dorothygriffiths-bcaf.org.uk.

30.08.06 The Dorothy Griffiths Breast Cancer Appeal Fund has adopted the music single "We'll Stand Together" as the charity's anthem! The song has been written and performed by Jan Dunne with the kind help of many others. You can find out more details and buy the CD or DVD, from the charity's website at www.dorothygriffiths-bcaf.org.uk. All proceeds go to support the charity's aims.

30.08.06 I'm currently experiencing problems with my email account, so I apologise if I've not replied to anyone in a while. We're working on the issue at the moment and I hope to be back up and running soon. Please keep sending me your emails, they won't be lost I just might not reply immediately.

08.07.06 We are still waiting for final guidance from NICE this month and as soon as we have news will put it on the website.

As you will read in the Sentinel, now that Herceptin is likely to be widely available on the NHS from September, we have decided to donate £58,000 to help cancer sufferers at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

We hope to raise a lot more money than we have, and the Dot Griffiths Breast Cancer Appeal Fund will be out and about hosting various events.  We want to raise a lot more money so every penny can go towards that hospital.

We are a local charity for local people, and all our money will go towards cancer patients.

The fund has helped fund the drug privately for those ladies who couldn't get it on the NHS during the campaign.

Our gratitude will be with you always for your overwhelming generosity with the fund raising.

Thank you all so very very much.
